We have an exciting update that we wanted to share with you! We recently extended an offer to Matthew Haslar for the role of Adult Discipleship Director, and he accepted! Matthew’s first day on staff at Bethel will be March 3, 2022.
Here’s an introduction:
Hi! My name is Matthew and I am the new Adult Discipleship Director at Bethel. As a part of my role, I will be directing the men’s ministry at our church. I am extremely excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to meet more of you. Let me tell you a little about myself and then share a few thoughts on men’s ministry.
First, a little about me. I have been married for 11 years and have two children (a nine-year-old boy named Philip and a seven-year-old girl named Abby). After getting my Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School I served in various churches as a young adult’s pastor, an associate pastor, a church planter, and a lead pastor. Some of my hobbies include lifting weights, camping, and anything involving basketball. I am excited to be coming to Bethel and to be a part of what God is doing here. I am passionate about discipleship and seeing people enter into deep, transformative relationships
with each other.
And now, a few brief thoughts on men’s ministry. Men’s ministry is an exciting place to serve! I have had the privilege of witnessing God use men to reach other men, challenge them, grow them, and send them out on the mission of Jesus. When men are willing to open up about the ups and downs of life, to grow in their faith, and live on mission it can make an incredible kingdom impact! I believe God wants to do more of that at Bethel Church.
My hope is to work together to make a men’s ministry that is relational, authentic, and fun to be a part of. I believe when we work together to create a shared vision, everyone wins. My first step will be to meet as many of the men of our church as I can and hear what gets you excited about ministry. We will then work together to form a plan on how we can disciple all of the men at our church. If you have any
thoughts or questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I look forward to getting to know you! (Email anytime: firstname.lastname@example.org)
