Senior Pastor Transition Update

posted by Bethel Communications | May 28, 2019

Hey Bethel Church, Rob Hopp here with a quick transition update.

Let me start by reminding everyone that we do have a Transition page on the Bethel website.

Just this past week, the Frequently asked question “What does it mean to be an Elder Led Church? and it’s answer were posted.

If you have been wondering about that, I recommend you go check it out.
I also encourage everyone to periodically check the page for all the latest updates and information.

The Bethel Elders have been meeting weekly to sort out and plan the next steps of hiring a Senior Pastor.

We will soon finalize the selection committee and other vetting groups that will determine how potential candidates are screened, selected, interviewed and ultimately who is chosen to present to the body for vote.

We will be able to share more details on this process as things are finalized and we move forward

As for the search, we will be looking at internal and external candidates.
For external candidates, we have two general approaches:

The first is networking.  We will be reaching out to seminaries, churches, organizations and individuals for referrals and connection points that will lead us to potential candidates.

The second is a search group.  Our original contract with Vanderbloemen, the agency we partnered with previously, is still in place allowing us a search option with very low cost.  We have already made contact with them and renewed their services.

We ask that you keep praying with us that this process will unfold quickly and we will find a Godly leader who is a gifted expository teacher and a disciple maker at heart.
