You Didn't Cause It
“I didn’t have the courage to share with anyone that my son was a drug addict until I met the women in this group. I discovered a safe place to share my feelings. This group has helped me recover from the shame and hopelessness I was dealing with.”

Seeing a loved one in pain is an incredibly difficult burden to bear. Watching a loved one, whether it's your spouse, child, or parent, wreak havoc in their own life and in yours through battling addiction is heart-wrenching, emotional, and devastating. "How did it get to this? What can I do? Is it my fault?" Your thoughts flood you at night and every waking minute as you try to make sense of what is happening and attempt to bring the chaos into order, with no end in sight.
You didn't cause this. It's not your fault. That is often a hard truth to accept as a family member of someone suffering from addiction. There is hope. The Serenity Group is a safe place for women with loved ones suffering from a substance use disorder to share their experience, strength, and hope by practicing the Twelve Steps and giving encouragement to each other through faith in God. Each week women come to The Serenity Group to share in their struggles and find hope together. Substance use disorder has complicated symptoms and the impact of those symptoms affects us all - parent, spouse, child, sibling or co-worker. We often find our lives are unmanageable and filled with hopelessness. If this sounds familiar, we invite you to come and find support, hope, and encouragement.
"Today when I went to Serenity I had a heavy heart, but when I left, I felt happy and fulfilled. Thank you for your encouragement, stories and examples, and thank you for your friendship...This group means so much to me..."
