Recently, we commissioned a Bethel family who is moving to India. We can refer to them as the S's. We have to keep their identity confidential because India is considered a restricted access country. What this means is you can not be an openly serving Christian. Our freedom of faith is something that we take for granted sometimes, but this family we are supporting is making that absence of freedom their reality. Even though they cannot openly share the gospel, God is doing amazing things through the local church in India that they will be joining. The S's will help train a team of national partners to build and manage a thriving music and language academy. This academy will help financially support the local church's planting efforts in the slums and surrounding area of Delhi. But before they can do all that, they have been in the process of culture training, raising financial support and setting up their new home.
Bethel's Global Outreach is excited to be sending one of our families to be full-time missionaries in South Asia! They are going to a country where there isn't any freedom of religion so we are going to be keeping identity and location confidential.
Perhaps we take for granted the things in life that make us happy. In Baja, Mexico, a spoonful of peanut butter and a glass of milk is the highlight of a child's day. I learned a lot about what should make me happy and how I am using my resources.
