As Christians we believe when we are baptized, we’re declaring the Good News. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and lives again. By being baptized, we’re identifying ourselves with Him. Romans 6:4 says we have been buried with Him through baptism into death. We’re now dead to the power of sin. Being raised up out of the water expresses our new life in Christ and our union with Him.
Starting Sunday, February 16th, we will be having a three week class about baptism for kids who are in 3rd - 5th grade.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about what the Bible says, what Bethel believes and answer any questions your kids may have. Plan to attend the class with them so you can go over things together during the week. This is a chance for you to decide if you think they are ready to make this important decision and go on to the next step. When the class has ended your child will have an opportunity to be interviewed with the Bethel Kids Director. At that time a decision will be made about taking part in the upcoming baptism or to wait until the another time.
We will be meeting in the Mountain View Room during 2nd service on Feb. 16th, 23rd and March 1st.
