Next Rooted Session Begins January 31

Hey, Pastor Jason here … If you’ve been around Bethel for any length of time, you know that our mission as a church is to make disciples – that is, we long to see people come to follow Jesus, be changed by Him and become committed to His mission in the world.

For everyone who is new to Bethel and you’re wondering what your next step is, Rooted is the next chapter of the story for you. Rooted isn’t simply a bible study or a book. It is a community experience, where people practice 7 rhythms essential to a healthy relationship with Jesus.

Individuals establish firm roots in the Truth of God’s Word through personal study and then come together to discuss what they’re learning in a space where they are safe and known. Our goal for this experience is for you to deepen your connection with God, His church, and your purpose in the epic story He is writing through human history. You will begin to see God in new ways and hear His voice in surprising places.

This world can be fragmented, isolated, and empty, but Rooted allows you to experience a different way of life: community, intimacy, and generosity. Through this experience, we hope you will be emboldened to live out your calling as a radical follower of Jesus. During the 10-week experience, you will go through various individual exercises (daily reading, journaling, and prayer) and then meet weekly in your groups to talk about what you have learned. You will be surprised by what happens when your group gathers and begins to honestly share.

There are three additional experiences designed to deepen some of the areas we explore. You’ll pray and fast together, share your faith and serve together. On top of these experiences, we'll also discuss where you are in your journey with Jesus.

No matter where you stand in your relationship with Jesus at the beginning of Rooted, there is always room to move forward. For some of us, that may mean deciding for the first time to follow Jesus and/or getting baptized. For others, it will mean letting go of the things of this world to follow His call more courageously. These kinds of defining moments will mean your life will never be the same.

After our 10 weeks together, we'll join with other Rooted Groups to celebrate the journey. I can’t wait to see how God is going to meet with you in Rooted!
