Since 2015, Bethel has partnered with the Tim Tebow Foundation to host Night to Shine (NTS), a prom for those in our community with special needs. When the pandemic hit and NTS was moved to a virtual event, we found another creative way to maintain those NTS relationships built over many years. In April 2021, Bethel held our first Spring Dance Party and it was a HUGE success! The Mom of a Spring Dance party guest said this:
“I am the mother of a 46-yo man with Down Syndrome. Although the Tri-Cities have many after-hours and weekend activities, they are rarely suitable or easily accessible for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
Enter Bethel Church's Night to Shine. Starting as a Tim Tebow event for people with I/DD, the COVID-19 pandemic put it on hold. However, the church revamped the event for social distancing, and threw an event for people with I/DD that they could safely attend and GREATLY ENJOY!
This is an event my son has come to look forward to every year! He is excited for weeks before the event, and comes home excited and bursting over with all of the fun things he did, prizes he won, and the lovely young ladies with whom he got to dance. He loves the treats, the helpers, and the picture of himself in his suit. This is the night that the participants truly do get to shine! I sincerely hope that Bethel Church can continue this event for my son's enjoyment, and all of the other participants who have so much fun!”
Thank you, Bethel Church

With NTS still being virtual, our Spring Dance party returns in April 2022, bigger and better than ever!
