Experience (The Pathway)

posted by Church Bethel | Apr 29, 2019

The Bible is full of stories of how God uses ordinary people to accomplish His purposes in the world.  He does the same today as he takes modern day disciples and provides them with opportunities to engage in personal relationships by investing in our neighbors, co-workers, and people we meet along the way.

God’s strategy to make disciples includes everyday Christians inviting people to know and follow Jesus.  To do this, we recognize that we are always on mission as the Spirit shapes us to be salt and light.  Jesus uses these concepts to communicate to believers that we have an important role in life.  We are to maintain our Christ like distinctiveness as we encounter those around us by being salt---carrying God’s purposes, mission and values to others around us.

We are also witnesses to the world of Christ’s saving power of the Gospel. So, we become light in the darkness as we serve others and do good works—living in a manner to glorify God! We are to live out God’s heart of being friendly and caring as we seek to invite people to connect with God and community with others. The greatest example for us is Jesus Himself who invested in and invited those along His path to know and love the Father.
